The Administration, Analysis and Information Technology (AATI) research line investigates the social, organizational and individual implications of digital technologies, with a critical emphasis on their uses and transformations in civil society organizations, companies and the public sector. Topics covered include information systems management, innovation in emerging technologies, digital ecosystems, IT governance, inclusive systems, socio-technics and digital decision-making processes. Research explores the dynamics of technological development in diverse contexts, using qualitative, quantitative and computational methods, such as case studies, Design Science Research and mixed approaches, balancing theoretical rigor with practical application. AATI examines cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, highlighting organizational, ethical and social impacts, as well as connections between algorithms, humans and data, considering inclusion, equity and sustainability.

The field of Organizational Studies has grown and consolidated substantially over the last five decades, and today includes an expressive variety of themes, epistemological currents, methodologies and approaches. At FGV EAESP, the Organizational Studies group was formed based on the guidance and classic contributions of Fernando Claudio Prestes Motta, Ramon Garcia and Mauricio Tragtenberg. These contributions were characterized by a reflexive and critical view of organizations and their dynamics. In its current configuration, the Organizational Studies Research Line aims to carry out studies that continue this tradition and draw on the latest theoretical advances in the field in Brazil and around the world.

FGV/EAESP's Research Line in Finance has already trained more than 300 researchers (Masters and PhDs), who have held prominent positions in academia, government and industry. During the course, the Line's students invariably undertake internships at renowned institutions abroad, including: University of Cambridge, University of California, University of Texas, University of Colorado, University of Lancaster, University of New York, University of Illinois, Instituto de Empresa (IE) de Madrid, University of Georgia, and Stanford University. The Finance Line has a range of professors whose specialties cover the entire spectrum of Finance: corporate finance (including international finance and corporate governance), investments and asset pricing, behavioral finance, banking, regulation and financial stability. Also noteworthy is the prioritization of the social impact, as well as the potential contribution to innovation, of the scientific production of the FGV/EAESP Finance Line.

About the doctorate

The CDAE contributes to the development of skills to participate in research groups on topics in the area of Administration that are relevant to the scientific field and society, as well as training for teaching in postgraduate programs.

The program is structured around 6 lines of research, coordinated by professors who share common interests and develop joint research, publication and teaching activities.

The student develops a thesis related to one of the lines, choosing it when registering for the selection process and using it as the main basis of knowledge in the development of the work.

Total workload:

The Doctorate in Business Administration has a total workload of 000 hours.

 

Attendance and timetables:

The compulsory, formative and elective subjects are taken bimonthly, with classes on one day of the week (between Monday and Friday), usually from 9am to 12.50pm or from 3pm to 6.50pm.

Students can choose the subjects they wish to take each semester, according to the program's guidelines and their needs. The choice of subjects to be taken each semester must be made in agreement with the leader of the LP to which they are linked and/or their advisor.

Certification Issued

At the end of the course, the graduate will receive the title of Doctor of Business Administration.

100% Exempt

All students approved in the selection process and duly enrolled are entitled to a scholarship in the form of a fee, i.e. exemption from tuition fees*.

*Maintaining the scholarship depends on meeting all the requirements and deadlines demanded by the Program.

Have a degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Tourism, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or related areas.

It is desirable to have experience in research, excellent performance in your previous training, a project aligned with the interests of the line of research and the effective possibility of inclusion in FGV's teaching and research activities.

The registration fee for the selection process is R$180.00 and can be paid at a discount (see the notice).

Registration

Registration on the website and submission of documents, which will be analyzed by an examining board. The documents will include a research project aligned with the interests of the LP for which the candidate wishes to apply. Presentation of the results of one of the tests: ANPAD, GMAT or GRE.

Personal interview

Candidates approved in the first phase will be interviewed remotely by an examining board made up of professors from the Line of Research.

Registration

Those approved attend the Freshman Reception and receive guidance on enrollment, which is carried out according to the schedule in the public notice.
