Doctor of Administration from the McGill University (Montreal, Canada), Master of Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Porto Alegre, RS), Bachelor of Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Porto Alegre, RS). He has other advanced studies carried out in the University of Deusto (Bilbao, Spain), City University Business School (London, England), Birkbeck College (London, England) and Aarhus Business School (Aarhus, Denmark). He is the a researcher and adjunct professor of the Master's and Doctorate Program in Administration at the School of Business Administration of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV-EAESP) and an associate researcher at the École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Montréal (HEC-Montreal). He is professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Champaign, United States, 2009), at the University of Portucalense Infante Dom Henrique (Porto, Portugal, 2007) and at Universidad Católica del Uruguay Dámaso Antonio Larrañaga (Montevideo, Uruguay, 2002). He is a Research Productivity Scholar at CNPq and the author of chapters of books and scientific articles. He is a Former Financial Superintendent and former Planning Manager of the Vale do Rio dos Sinos University (Unisinos). His academic and professional interests are: corporate governance, international corporate finance, capital structure, investment analysis, dividend policy and capital markets.
