Mariana Luiza Fiocco Machini

Master's degree (2017) and PhD candidate in Social Anthropology at the Faculty of Philosophy, Languages and Literature, and Human Sciences at the University of São Paulo (FFLCH/USP). She holds two postgraduate certificates: one in "Marketing Research, Public Opinion, and Media" (2011) and another in "Globalization and Culture" (2011), both from the Foundation School of Sociology and Politics (FESPSP). She also holds a bachelor's degree in Tourism (2007) and Social Sciences (2018) from the University of São Paulo (USP). She has over 10 years of experience in qualitative and quantitative research with the Economic Research Institute Foundation (FIPE) and other institutions. Since 2017, she has focused on studies and research in the socio-environmental field, deepening her knowledge in areas such as urban agriculture, social participation in environmental projects, and communities and environments affected by disasters. She has been a researcher at FGVces since June 2019, working on the Rio Doce project, which investigates the socioeconomic damage suffered by populations affected by the collapse of the Fundão dam. Since 2023, she has been part of the Adapta Program, contributing to various projects related to Climate Change Adaptation, Resilience, and Disaster Risk Management in partnership with local communities, public authorities, and private institutions.
