Theo Cotrim Martins

Theo C. Martins is a PhD candidate in Finance at FGV EAESP. He holds a master’s degree from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) and a bachelor degree in electrical engineering from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp).
Since 2010 he is an employee of Central Bank of Brazil (Bacen), where he has been a senior trader for the local foreign exchange trading desk and payment instruments analyst. He was also an analyst and manager for the Macroprudential Risk Credit Monitoring division. From 2019 onwards, he is on a paid leave for PhD program.
He has finished the CFA Institute charter curriculum in 2013. In the private sector, he has worked for Siemens and Itaú Unibanco.
Theo was a professor at Insper between 2014 and 2016. Currently, is a professor at FGV EAESP. He has published on journal like Journal of Corporate Finance and Journal of Credit Risk.
