Sérgio Amad Costa

Sérgio Amad Costa has a degree in Business Administration from Getulio Vargas Foundation School of Business Administration in São Paulo, and a master's degree in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo. Since 1985 he has been a professor of undergraduate and graduate courses at Getulio Vargas Foundation School of Business Administration in São Paulo. From 2001 to 2007, he was the coordinator of the Human Resources Administration course at GESPp at EAESP-FGV. He is the author of four books: In 1981, he published, through the Publishing House of the Polytechnic Union of USP, his first book, THE CGT AND THE BRAZILIAN UNION FIGHTS, addressing issues of the history of Labor Relations in Brazil. This book featured a presentation by Sérgio Buarque de Holanda's. In 1983, he published his second book, IDEAS IN DEBATE, through the Publisher of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering FEI. It is a collection of articles that he wrote for the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo. In 1986, he published his third book, STATE AND UNION CONTROL IN BRAZIL, through Editora T.A Queiroz, addressing Labor Relations issues, with a preface by Professor Leôncio Martins Rodrigues. In 1997, he published his fourth book, THE NEW LABOR RELATIONSHIPS - BY A MODERN BUSINESS, through Editora Atlas, addressing Human Resources and Labor Relations issues. Since 1980 he has been a permanent contributor to the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo, publishing monthly articles in the Caderno de Economia e Negócios. He is also the author of several essays published in business management journals. In the 1990s he was managing partner of large consulting firms here in Brazil. From 1997 to the present day he is managing partner of AMAD Consulting and Training, working in the area of Human Resources in national and international medium and large companies.
