Cleber da Costa Figueiredo

He holds a doctorate in statistics from USP (2009), as well as a master's degree in statistics from the same university (2004). He completed his basic training in graduation studies in mathematics (2001), also at IME-USP. During the graduation course, he undertook two scientific initiations: one in differential geometry, which he did not continue, and another in the statistical department of USP, in regression models. When he was contemplated with a scholarship from FAPESP, he chose to continue in the area of statistics. which was a great choice. At the end of the graduation, he received the honorable mention for having excelled in the course, which guaranteed him the direct entrance to the postgraduation course. During the masters degree, he applied for and received a scholarship from FAPESP and during his doctorate he received a scholarship from CNPq. His first teaching experience occurred at the age of 16, when he worked on a Kolping Project in Brazil, teaching adults in the outskirts of Suzano. He was an intern of the Electronic Computing Center of USP and of the Institute of Economic Research Foundation. As for the higher education, his first experiences were given in the IME-USP courses, since he was a monitor of several disciplines, among which: calculus for a real variable, linear algebra, calculation in Rn and via WebCT, notions of statistics ( for three years) and introduction to probability and statistics. In USP's educational improvement programs, he worked with descriptive statistics, survival analysis, and time series. In 2004, he received an invitation to work as a monitor at the former IBMEC, São Paulo. From that day on, he became a professor of public education (FATEC - approved in public competition) and private (EESP-FGV - Methodist - UNIVEM), consolidating himself as a professor at ESPM and EAESP-FGV, where today he works mainly in multivariate analysis of data, classical and Bayesian inference, modelos de regressão e econométricos.
