Ciro Biderman

Ciro Biderman is professor of graduation and post-graduation courses in public administration and economics at the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). He is an associate researcher at the Center for Policy and Economics Studies of the Public Sector (CEPESP/FGV) and an affiliate researcher in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning (DUSP) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a short-term adviser to the World Bank on local development economics and policy. He is a doctor of Economics from FGV/EAESP in 2001 and a post-doctorate fellow at MIT in 2007. His research interests include urban and regional economics focused on public policies at the subnational level, with a particular emphasis on land policies and their interaction with real estate markets and costs. He was Chief of Staff of the São Paulo Traffic Company (SPTrans) from 2013 to 2015 and Director of Innovation in the City of São Paulo in 2016.
