Ricardo Meirelles de Faria
He holds a doctorate in Business Economics from the Getulio Vargas Foundation - SP (2007) and a Master's Degree in Business Economics from the Getulio Vargas Foundation - SP (1998) and a degree in Business Administration from the Getulio Vargas Foundation - SP (1989). He has gone through specialized courses at Georgetown University (Washington-DC/USA) and Università Luigi Bocconii (Milan/Italy). He is a FAPESP researcher in PIPE-Finep programs. He is a World Bank consultant for the energy sector. He is a professor of Applied Macroeconomics, Monetary Economics and Brazilian Economy courses at the School of Business Administration of São Paulo (EAESP-FGV). He has experience in the areas of macroeconomics, with emphasis on Monetary and Fiscal Policy, working mainly on the following topics: monetary economics, inflation targeting models, coordination between monetary and fiscal policy, computable general equilibrium, and scientific methodology. He is the managing partner of Linus Galena Consultoria Econômica and responsible for the macroeconomic, sectorial and foreign trade department. Linus Galena is ranked in the BACEN's Annual Focus Top 5 Ranking in 2012 and 2014, as well as in numerous monthly rankings. He is a contributor to the Broadcast, State Agency and Thompson / Reuters services and to the economonitor.com website. He has an extensive experience in the implementation and exchange of control processes of financial institutions in Brazil, BACEN DEORF 3040 processes, and on one occasion, he was the technical director with BACEN in the process of exchange of financial institution. He created the InflationT software, simulating an open economy inflation targeting model with the incorporation of a fiscal block.
