Rafael is a Ph.D. candidate with a Master's in Business Administration from FGV EAESP, specializing in Finance. He also holds an MBA in Financial Management, Controllership, and Auditing from FGV and a Bachelor's in Business Administration from UFPR. With over 12 years of experience in the financial market, Rafael is a Finance Professor at FGV EAESP and a career employee at Banco do Brasil (BB). He is also a certified Investment Specialist by ANBIMA.

Throughout his career at BB, he has held roles in different areas. A notable one was within the Corporate Venture Capital program, where he focused on evaluating strategic investment opportunities in startups. Currently, Rafael holds a Senior Advisor position at the Strategy and Organization Directorate of the same institution. In this role, he is responsible for analyzing and enabling business arrangements within the H2 and H3 innovation horizons, as well as evaluating the portfolio of invested or potentially investable companies within the Holding from the perspective of the organization's Corporate Strategy.

His research interests encompass Sustainable Finance, Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Innovation, and Venture Capital.
