Alexandre Abdal is a professor in the Public Management Department of the School of Business Administration of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (GEP-FGV/EAESP), a temporary professor in the Department of Sociology of the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences at the University of São Paulo (Sociology-FFLCH/USP) and a researcher associated with the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (Cebrap). He holds a degree in Social Sciences and Sociology, with a doctorate (2015), a master's degree (2008) and a graduation (2005) from FFLCH-USP. He works with researches in the areas of Sociology of Development, Economic Sociology, Regional Economics and Public Policy Evaluation, with emphasis on the following topics: urban and regional development, cities, regional and urban planning, research methods and techniques in Social Sciences, innovation and knowledge, labor market and higher education. He is the author of the book São Paulo, desenvolvimento e espaço: a formação da Macrometrópole Paulista (São Paulo, development and space: the formation of the Macrometropole of São Paulo), by the publishing house Papagaio, and editor and organizer of the digital books Methods and techniques of research in Social Sciences: quantitative block and Methods and research techniques in Social Sciences: qualitative block, in partnership with the Research and Training Center (CPF) of Sesc-SP.
