Period: 1 year and can be renewed for up to 36 months in total
The postdoctoral researcher will work in the area of Institutions for Innovation of the CEPID. The fellow will conduct research aimed at understanding the role of institutions for innovation to address global environmental change. Institutions for innovation encompass different layers of analysis from policy and regulations to economic/business environment to both foster knowledge creation and its application (science and technology) on the one hand and its diffusion and absorption by economic agents (individuals and firms) in the form of new capabilities and potential markets.
The postdoctoral fellow will examine local-level the existing institutional conditions (policies, property rights systems, factor economic endowments, science & technology and industry capabilities) that promotes or hinders innovation. The research will focus on three levels of institutions for innovation and our research goals in each level (i) State, Government and Policy, (ii) Education, Science and Technology Systems and (iii) Market-Industry Dynamics.
