Alexandre Alves Schneider
Bio
Professor and researcher at the São Paulo School of Business Administration, Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV EAESP), where he earned his PhD in Public Administration and Government. He teaches in the undergraduate program in Public Administration (CGAP) and in the Professional Master's in Public Policy Management (MPGPP), where he also supervises dissertations. He is currently conducting postdoctoral research at PUC-SP on generative artificial intelligence and education. He served as Secretary of Education of the State of Pernambuco (2024–2025) and as Municipal Secretary of Education of São Paulo in two administrations (2006–2012 and 2017–2019). He was president of Instituto Singularidades and served as Adjunct Professor and Visiting Scholar at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), Columbia University. He has published articles in academic journals including The Economic Journal and the Journal of Quantitative Criminology, and writes regularly on education and public policy in the Brazilian press. He was a columnist for Folha de S.Paulo.
