Innovating in Urban Solid Waste Management: challenges and paths for Brazil
The solid waste sector was impacted by two important events in 2020: the 10-year anniversary of the promulgation of the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS) and the approval of the New Sanitation boundary.
The first event brought many teachings and with it, the great challenge of ending the Dumps, expanding recycling and moving forward with the recovery of waste. The second, established universalization goals and also addressed the issue of solid waste, not restricting itself to regulating the water and sewage sectors.
In this context, the Center for Infrastructure and Environmental Solutions Studies at FGV EAESP promotes a webinar to discuss the future of solid waste in Brazil. During the lecture, six success cases on the topic will be analyzed and in addition different municipalities will report experiences of innovation. This information will compose the manual of good practices, resulting from the project "Management of Urban Solid Waste in Brazil: an Analysis of Innovations in Local Public Policy".
The seminar is open to the public and takes place on the Zoom video conference platform with live transmission to YouTube from FGV EAESP
