Online debate addresses health plans and proposed changes in the law

The Center for Studies in Health Planning and Management (FGVsaúde) of the School of Business Administration of São Paulo (FGV EAESP) holds an online debate on health plans: proposals for modifications of Law 9656/98 and its impact on the sustainability of the system. Open to the public, the event will be held on September 5, at 19:15 p.m., on FGV's YouTube channel.
The event will feature a lecture by Congressman Duarte Jr. Participating as debaters Ligia Bahia, associate professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Anderson Mendes, president of the National Union of Self-Management Institutions in Health (UNIDAS). The moderation will be the guest professor of FGV EAESP, Alberto Ogata.
The high accident rates observed in Brazilian supplementary health have generated great impacts on costs for contracting companies and citizens. In addition, factors such as the aging of the population, the increase in the prevalence of chronic conditions and their risk factors, judicialization and the incorporation of new technologies have brought risks to the sustainability of the private health system. The purpose of this debate is to discuss this topic.
