FGV EAESP opens applications for a CNPq Postdoctoral Fellowship at Leiden University
Fundação Getulio Vargas's São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP) is accepting applications for the nomination of one researcher for a Postdoctoral Fellowship Abroad (PDE/CNPq) under a research project coordinated by Professor Gabriela Spanghero Lotta and funded by Brazil's National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).
The project, “The Equality-Equity Dilemma on the Front Line: Street-Level Bureaucrats in Comparative Perspective,” examines how public policy frontline workers in Brazil, Mexico, and the Netherlands navigate dilemmas between equality and equity across different institutional, social, and cultural contexts.
The research is conducted in collaboration with Leiden University in the Netherlands and El Colegio de México in Mexico.
About the fellowship
The fellowship provides an opportunity to conduct research at Leiden University for 6 to 12 months, with the final duration determined by the research work plan and subject to CNPq approval.
The reference monthly stipend is €2,100, with additional benefits including a settling-in allowance, health insurance, and travel support, subject to CNPq's current regulations.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree by the time the fellowship begins and have research experience or interests related to public policy, policy implementation, street-level bureaucracy, inequalities, equality, equity, or related fields.
Familiarity with quantitative methods, preferably experimental research, and an interest in qualitative methods are desirable.
Applicants must be Brazilian nationals or, if foreign nationals, hold permanent residence status in Brazil, and must meet all other CNPq requirements.

- Two academic publications or writing samples.

The selection process will be conducted by the project coordinator based on the submitted documents and, when necessary, interviews with shortlisted candidates.
The nomination and implementation of the fellowship are subject to CNPq approval and compliance with all applicable requirements.
