About the master's degree

A course for you to develop from a combination of theoretical approaches and applied analysis in Political Science, Micro and Macroeconomics, Sociology, Law, Organizational Theory and Statistics. The course focuses on the intersection of two axes of action.

1º. Management of public and non-governmental organizations and voluntary civic associations that make up the field of public action in the social sphere.

2º. Recognition that territory and territoriality are not reduced to jurisdictional geography, requiring different approaches, sometimes quite distinct.

Frequency and timetables

The Professional Master's Degree in Management and Public Policies (MPGPP) has a total workload of 510 hours.

FGV's MPGPP classes are semi-presential.

Face-to-face meetings take place on Fridays and Saturdays.

On Fridays, in the evening, and on Saturdays, in the morning and afternoon.

Certification issued

Upon graduating from the MPGPP you will receive a Master's degree in Management and Public Policy.

The Professional Master's Degree in Management and Public Policies - Urban Public Policies has a total workload of XXX hours.

Evaluation criteria

EVALUATION AND ATTENDANCE

Art. 16 Participants will be assessed in each subject, with a mark between zero and ten being awarded.

§ Paragraph 1: Participants will pass if they obtain a grade equal to or higher than 6.0 (six) in the subject.

§ Paragraph 2: The average grade required to pass the course, considering all the subjects, is 7.0 (seven).

Art. 17 Participants may request a review of the final assessment only, in a request addressed to the teacher of the respective subject, filed with the SRA within 5 (five) working days of the date of publication of the final concepts.

§ Paragraph 1: The teacher has a period of 5 (five) working days from the date the file is submitted to review the assessment and inform the SRA of the result of the review.

§ Paragraph 2: The SRA publishes the decision, which cannot be appealed.

Art. 18 A participant who has an attendance of less than

75% (seventy-five percent) of the classes taught, with the exception of absences covered by the Exceptional Study Regime provided for in Decree-Law no. 1.044 of 21.10.1969 and Law no. 6.202 of 17.04.1975.

Sole paragraph. The maximum tolerance of 25% (twenty-five percent) of absences includes those motivated by gala, bereavement and other impediments provided for by law (military call-up, election, court summons, blood donation, paternity leave, etc.).

Art. 19 Participants who fail the same subject more than twice, fail the course more than four times or fail to renew their semester registration will be dismissed from the course.

Certification issued

At the end of the course, the graduate receives the title of Master in Management and Public Policy.

The MPGPP offers two types of scholarship.

Scholarships

There are two types of scholarship available

a) Scholarship Financing, which consists of the use of resources from the FGV EAESP Scholarship Fund in a refundable form. It is possible to finance between 20 and 70% of the course fee. The student must start paying the amount financed to the School from the 30th month from the date of enrollment, regardless of the date of completion of the course. The student must pay off their debt in up to the same number of installments as were financed, i.e. one month's payment for each month of the course financed.

b) Non-refundable Economic Need Grant, which is awarded on the basis of an analysis of the successful applicant's financial situation. A percentage of up to 80% of the course fee may be awarded, subject to the availability of funds.

Discount

A discount of up to 10% of the course fee may be granted, subject to availability of funds. The discount will be analyzed after the selection process interview.

The Professional Master's Degree in Management and Public Policies (MPGPP) offers those interested the possibility of taking some of its subjects as an individual student. The aim

is to give each participant the opportunity to develop in one or more specific subjects.

Target audience

Graduates in any field of knowledge with at least 3 years of professional experience, who are interested in taking elective courses in the MPGPP, for credit recognition or not.

Requirements

Limit on subjects: applicants can take up to 8 credits of subjects as an individual student and cannot extend the number of credits even in the next semester.

The selection process is carried out by the program coordinator. A registration fee of R$25.00 is charged.

Fees

Investment: 3 (three) installments of R$ 1,000.00 per course or payment in cash.

Recognition of credits: if you become a regular student on the program, there will be no reduction in the total cost of the course, but the credits for the individual courses will be recognized.

Refundable/Reimbursable: the refundable/reimbursable scholarship is a benefit granted in the form of financing of the tuition fee, upon analysis of an application submitted to the School's Scholarship Committee. The financial resources for the Refundable Scholarship come from the Getulio Vargas Foundation Scholarship Fund (Ordinance No. 17/2002).

The criteria for awarding the scholarship are based on an analysis of: family income (the lower the income, the higher the percentage approved); assets and liquidity, assessed in conjunction with income; academic record; financial availability each semester; number of applications and percentages requested.

Both types of scholarship are renewed every six months, following certain criteria described in the detailed information contained in the Instructions for Applying for Scholarships.

For postgraduate students, repayment will begin six months after the scheduled completion date of the course, regardless of whether or not the course is completed.

The obligation to repay, as set out above, prevails even if the beneficiary drops out, withdraws or has the course terminated by jubilation, in accordance with the Course regulations, in which case the period of 90 (ninety) days begins to run from any of these events.

Social Demand Grant (non-refundable)

A non-refundable scholarship designed to increase access for socially disadvantaged groups, which can cover up to 50% of the course fee.

Social Demand/Non-Refundable: this type of scholarship is designed to broaden access to executive postgraduate studies for minority groups in society, whether for economic, racial or gender reasons, promoting diversity and inclusion in the student body of professional master's degree courses. The scholarships cover up to 50% of the course fee and must be applied for exclusively by students who have passed the MPGPP selection process.

The criteria for awarding the scholarship are based on socio-economic analysis and/or valuing diversity and inclusion in its multiple dimensions and intersections, considering race (black, brown or indigenous candidates); gender; sexuality (self-declared members of the LGBTQIAP+ community); people with disabilities.
