The Center for Entrepreneurship and New Business (FGVcenn) was created in June 2004 with the mission of being a generator of knowledge in entrepreneurship in Brazil, building an entrepreneurial culture at the Getulio Vargas Foundation and contributing to boosting the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country.

One of our main focuses is social entrepreneurship, which is why the Center brings together researchers from diverse backgrounds, capable of studying what is innovative in the area and spreading this knowledge in a multidisciplinary and independent way, as well as being able to make the content available for public access.

FGVcenn's main projects include FGVentures; the Family Business Network; the Periphery Impact Business Accelerator; and the Race and Market Forum. Find out more about each of these initiatives below.

Main projects

Accelerator for early-stage startups, with the aim of fostering high-growth ethical entrepreneurship throughout Brazil.

  • Family Business Network

Brings together family businesses in a series of meetings and activities throughout the year.

  • Accelerator of Peripheral Impact Businesses (ANIP)

It works in co-organization with Artemisia and A Banca and aims to accelerate social impact businesses from the peripheries of the city of São Paulo.

  • Race and Market Forum: an economic transformation

  • It is an environment for dialog and exchange created to debate the inclusion of the black population in the business world, from those who undertake to those who consume, which is why the Forum promotes an economic transformation, which is born with the execution of the project through the union of FGV EAESP with Feira Preta, Afrobusiness, Diáspora.Black and the Black Money Movement.

FGVcenn works beyond the implementation of projects, frequently holding workshops on topics related to entrepreneurship, such as financial education, tax law, digital marketing, family succession, among others. Free monthly workshops are offered to entrepreneurs at the Facebook Hack Station. Women entrepreneurs have workshops specifically for them held at Itaú. The Center also addresses issues relevant to the field of entrepreneurship in publications in Novos Negócios magazine.

FGVcenn's initiatives converge with its vision that entrepreneurs are agents of transformation in society and, for this reason, FGVcenn seeks to encourage them by awakening their creative and innovative potential. The Center also works to improve business processes and look for opportunities to increase entrepreneurs' chances of success. By disseminating quality knowledge and supporting entrepreneurial activities, FGVcenn acts as a bridge between FGV and society and contributes to the country's social and economic development. Come and be a part of FGVcenn's history.
