Companies are finding it increasingly challenging to innovate and remain competitive. Due to the high costs of the innovation process and the need to continually reduce time-to-market, open innovation is now the reality for most companies. In this context, involvement with innovation ecosystems is fundamental to fostering innovation within companies. In this course, we will gain an in-depth understanding of how to interact with entrepreneurial ecosystems and partner platforms that create products and services that complement the company's value proposition. By the end of the course, students will be able to
i) assess the role their companies play in innovation ecosystems,
ii) exploit links with different actors, such as startups, accelerators, venture capitalists and partner companies, to their advantage;
iii) choose the best ways to engage with these partners;
iv) develop a strategy to orchestrate the engagement of these actors in their companies' innovation efforts.
