The course aims to debate and promote reflection on the challenges and actions needed to reduce social vulnerabilities and advance socio-environmental justice in Brazilian cities in the context of the climate emergency. To achieve this goal, concepts and perspectives on adaptation, socio-environmental and climate justice and sustainable cities will be presented, examples and cases of urban territories in different regions of the country will be debated and reflection on different perspectives and experiences of life in cities and the multiple risks faced on a daily basis - accentuated by extreme and chronic climate events - with an impact on the physical and mental health of populations will be encouraged.
