Most traditional supply chains were developed with the aim of optimizing companies' internal operations, resulting in efficiency gains and cost reductions. However, this vision is rapidly becoming less appropriate, since the growth of organizations requires an alignment of supply chain strategy with business strategies centred on customer needs.
Thus, the success of the supply chain, and consequently that of business strategies, must include an integrated design of the activities that add value for the customer, as well as their trade-offs. In addition, the professional must appropriate models for collecting and analyzing the data available for decision-making, critically analyzing the impacts of the decisions to be made.
This course aims to discuss supply chain strategy and the areas in which its activities and decisions are aligned with business strategies, based on five key elements: Value System, Operating Models, Sales Channels, Customer Service and Network Design.
