Representatives of the federal government and the private sector participate in a business forum on climate

The Center for Sustainability Studies of the São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP) holds the Business Forum on Adaptation to Climate Change. Open to the public, the event will be held on June 26 and 27, at 9 a.m., at FGV in São Paulo.

The objective is to discuss the relevance, advances and challenges of the adaptation and risk management agenda in the private sector through panels, round tables and presentations with the presence of guests from the federal government, the private sector and the third sector.

Ministers, secretaries and advisors of the Ministries of Environment and Climate Change (MMA), Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and Entrepreneurship, Microenterprise and Small Business are confirmed, as well as representatives of the organizations CNI, CNSeg, ANBIMA, Embrapa, ANA, Moveinfra, EDP, LaClima, CDP, Fundação Boticário, Ethos, Global Compact, CEBDS.

Another highlight of the program will be the presentation of the Climate Adaptation Plan, which is in the process of being prepared. The public will learn about the structure and preliminary content of the Plan and will also have the opportunity to dialogue and make direct contributions to the federal government in the parallel sectoral rooms that will take place on the 2nd day of the program.

The Forum aims to establish a new milestone in the agenda, boosting the process of supporting business strategies and consolidating a multisectoral network, which began in 2013 at the Latin American Forum on Adaptation to Climate Change. But if in 2013 the objective was to raise awareness among the business sector, now it is understood that it is necessary to mobilize leaders for action and investment in adaptation measures anchored in robust strategies, aimed not only at direct and short-term risks, but also at the impacts and risks that fall on value chains and territories from a long-term vision.
