Research Initiation Program (PIP)
About
The objective of PIP is to promote the exchange of knowledge between students, managers, communities, associations, social organizations, entrepreneurs, and specialists, with the guidance and supervision of FGV professors. The program also aims to bring students closer to the diverse realities of Brazil, fostering humanistic, collaborative, proactive, and entrepreneurial attitudes. PIP comprises three initiatives: Research Residency, Local Connection Project, and Institutional Scientific Initiation Scholarship Program (PIBIC).
1- Research Residency
The Research Residency Project is one of three initiatives of the Research Initiation Program (PIP), which enables FGV EAESP undergraduate students to participate in research projects at the school's Study Centers for a period of four months per semester, which may be renewed. In 2023, the program expanded its activities to include master's students.
This project represents a first step for students interested in participating in the Institutional Scientific Initiation Scholarship Program (PIBIC) and the Local Connection Project.
For participants in the Undergraduate Business Administration Course (CGAE), participation in the Research Residency Project may, if the student is interested, be recognized as an internship with the FGV EAESP Career Center.

2 - Local Connection Project
The Local Connection Project aims to encourage the involvement of undergraduate and graduate students at FGV EAESP in innovative experiences in social management and local economic development, with a focus on public policy, poverty alleviation, and the promotion of citizenship.
Timeline
Created in 2005, the project has the support and participation of the Study Centers and Research Lines and has undergone several changes and improvements over the years.
In 2008, the inter-university modality was created, with the Federal University of Acre (UFAC) as a partner.
In 2009, the project was awarded the CAPES Pro-Adm Grant, allowing this modality to be maintained until 2012.
In 2010, the modality was expanded with the inclusion of the State University of Vale do Acaraú (UVA-CE) and the João Pinheiro Foundation School of Government (EG-FJP).
In 2019, the need to restructure the program was identified, with the aim of improving results, increasing autonomy, and expanding the research knowledge of the students involved. The change in the program's structure aims to make full use of resources and awaken academic vocation.
Important information
Conexão Local is a project carried out in groups (formed by 3 or 4 undergraduate and graduate students), in which students must plan, develop, and conduct field research and subsequently prepare a Final Article containing a report on the research conducted and conclusions and/or suggestions for improvements to the issue studied.
FGV EAESP provides a scholarship to cover costs related to the field research, such as airfare, accommodation, transportation, etc.
