FGVneop
Center for Studies in Organizations and People
The Center for Studies in Organizations and People promotes research in people and organization management and dialogue between academia and the market.
Who we are
FGVneop is a group linked to the São Paulo School of Business Administration of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV/EAESP).
FGVneop's mission is to generate and disseminate knowledge applied to relevant issues in management practice, the management of organizations and people.
FGVneop aims to promote dialogue between academia, organizations and society.
Our premises
The growing complexity of organizations creates challenges that demand a permanent effort to develop and apply new models and new management practices.
Brazil's institutional, economic, social and cultural characteristics demand the generation of specific knowledge, applied to our reality.
Brazilian organizations, and particularly the management of organizations and people, are at a turning point, characterized by the exhaustion of current organizational and management models and the search for higher levels of productivity and competitiveness.
Our challenges
Local organizations need to improve their management practices, enabling them to compete in a competitive and unstable market.
The internationalization process of Brazilian companies requires the construction of a new "mental model" and the development of specific skills.
The shortage of qualified staff needs to be addressed in order to make companies' expansion plans viable.
Companies need to develop their leadership in business, operational and interpersonal skills, thus addressing gaps that restrict their performance.
People management needs to address multiple issues related to attracting and retaining young talent, accelerating careers and changes in the demographic profile of the population.
The Brazilian model of labor relations must evolve towards more flexible configurations that are consistent with the new times.
Our scope of action
Research applied to practical issues and challenges related to management practices and people management.
Research projects carried out in partnership with professional associations.
Events and seminars focused on topics of interest to executives and academics.
Scientific and knowledge dissemination articles published in high-impact or high-circulation journals.
Our research
The research on aging in organizations and age management was developed by the Center for Studies in Organizations and People (FGV-EAESP), in partnership with Aging Free Fair and with the support of ABRH-SP and Brasilprev. The research was presented at the 1st Gray Talent Forum, which took place in April 2018 in the FGV auditorium. The results can be found in the attached report.
