FGV EAESP Opens Applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Business Leadership and Climate Change Governance

FAPESP-funded opportunity at FGV Earth focuses on organizational leadership, sustainability, and climate change governance.

Fundação Getulio Vargas's São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP), through FGV Earth, is accepting applications for a postdoctoral fellowship at the Research, Innovation and Dissemination Center for Global Environmental Change Governance (CEPID/FAPESP – Grant No. 2022/14558-2).

The position is part of Research Nucleus 5 – Leadership and focuses on understanding how business leadership can integrate sustainability and climate change governance into organizational strategies and decision-making processes.

The research will explore sustainability-oriented leadership, strategy implementation, change management, ecosystem leadership, and cross-sector collaboration, with particular attention to Brazilian and Latin American contexts. The selected fellow will contribute to mixed-methods research, academic publications, collaborative workshops, and knowledge dissemination activities.

The fellowship will be supervised by Professor Jorge Carneiro, with Professor Umesh Mukhi serving as co-supervisor, both at FGV EAESP.

Eligibility and Fellowship Conditions

Applications are welcome from Brazilian and international researchers holding a PhD in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, or related fields in the Applied Social Sciences, obtained within the past seven years, subject to exceptions established by FAPESP.

Candidates should demonstrate research experience in strategy and sustainability, proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods, fluency in English, and availability for full-time, on-site research activities in São Paulo.

The FAPESP fellowship provides a monthly stipend of BRL 12,570, as stated in the call, for up to 36 months, with possible extensions under FAPESP regulations. The expected starting date is between April and July 2027, subject to FAPESP approval.

Applications must be submitted by December 31 to eaip@fgv.br, with the subject line “CEPID Postdoc Leadership”, including the following documents in English:

  • Short academic CV (maximum four pages);
  • Motivation letter (one to two pages);
  • Copies of two academic publications relevant to the fellowship's research topic.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to online interviews in January 2027 via Zoom or Teams.
