The 1st Black Entrepreneurship Forum of the "Race and the Market: An Economic Transformation" project is debating the inclusion of the black population in the business world, from those who undertake to those who consume in the market for products and services aimed at the black population. The forum includes events such as Feira Preta and startups.
FGV EAESP has invited a pool of black businesses to create an environment for dialog and exchange. Among those invited are Pretahub, Feira Preta, Afrobusiness, Diáspora.Black and Movimento Black Money. The initiative will take place on May 13, from 9am to 7pm, at the Getulio Vargas Foundation, and will include market analysis, the presence of investors and representatives of companies and businesses from different segments of the economy.
The event will feature lectures and panels with experts and players who will talk about the market, public policies, private social investment and other related issues. The highlight will be the presence of Kent State University's Supplier Diversity Program Manager, a multi-award winner for her work in promoting B2B Diversity.
The idea for the forum came about following meetings between officials from the Getulio Vargas Foundation's School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP) and black business entrepreneurs. Both identified the need to bring together the main economic players around black businesses, deepening structural reflections on this type of enterprise. They came up with the proposal to create an observatory that would maintain an ongoing database on the context, evolution and challenges of including the black population - be it entrepreneurs or consumers - in the business world.
The Forum is the start of a broader proposal, which includes: monthly meetings, publications, the creation of various audiovisual contents and the observatory, among other activities, which will be able to promote the issue with different and important players in the GDP.
"Often, innovation processes in companies, whether large, medium or small, are associated with 'creating a digital culture', finding cheap technological solutions for on and offline processes and the like. All of this is innovation, of course, but not only that. If the solution you create doesn't include more than half of the Brazilian population in the conversation, or rather, in the accounts, in the figures, in your results, is your business really innovating? Or just creating something that will become obsolete very soon?" asks Adriana Barbosa, CEO of Pretahub and creator of Feira Preta, the largest black culture and economy event in Latin America.

1º Fórum de Empreendedorismo Negro "Raça e Mercado: Uma Transformação Econômica"
Debate: A inclusão da População Negra no universo dos negócios
O 1º Fórum de Empreendedorismo Negro do projeto "Raça e Mercado: Uma Transformação Econômica" debate a inclusão da população negra no universo dos negócios, de quem empreende a quem consome no mercado de produtos e serviços voltados para a população negra. O fórum engloba de eventos, como a Feira Preta, à startups.
A FGV EAESP convidou um pool de negócios pretos para criar um ambiente de diálogo e troca. Estão entre os convidados Pretahub, Feira Preta, Afrobusiness, Diáspora.Black e Movimento Black Money. A iniciativa acontece dia 13 de maio, das 9h às 19h, na Fundação Getulio Vargas, e terá na programação análises de mercado, presença de investidores e de representantes de empresas e negócios de diferentes segmentos da economia.
O evento terá palestras e painéis com especialistas e players que falarão sobre mercado, políticas públicas, investimento social privado, entre outros assuntos correlatos. O destaque fica com a presença da Gerente do Programa de Diversidade de Fornecedores da Kent State University, multipremiada por seus trabalhos relacionados à promoção da Diversidade B2B.
A ideia do fórum surgiu após encontros de responsáveis da Escola de Administração de Empresas da Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV EAESP) com empreendedores de negócios pretos. Ambos identificaram a necessidade de articular os principais atores econômicos em torno dos negócios pretos, aprofundando reflexões estruturais sobre esse tipo de empreendimento. Surgiu a proposta de criar um observatório que mantenha uma base de dados contínua sobre o contexto, a evolução e os desafios da inclusão da população negra – seja ela empresária, seja ela consumidora – no universo dos negócios.
O Fórum dá início a uma proposta mais ampla, que inclui: a realização de encontros mensais, publicações, a criação de conteúdos audiovisuais diversos e do observatório, entre outras atividades, que darão conta de fomentar o tema com diferentes e importantes atores do PIB.
“Muitas vezes, processos de inovação nas empresas, sejam elas de grande, médio ou pequeno porte, são associados a “criar uma cultura digital”, encontrar soluções tecnológicas baratas para processos on e off-line e afins. Tudo isso é inovar, claro, mas, não só. Se a solução que você cria não inclui mais da metade da população brasileira na conversa, ou melhor, nas contas, nas cifras, nos seus resultados, será que seu negócio está inovando de verdade? Ou apenas criando algo que se tornará obsoleto muito em breve?”, questiona Adriana Barbosa, CEO da Pretahub e idealizadora da Feira Preta, o maior evento de cultura e economia preta da América Latina.
