Forums for discussion and dissemination of the fund industry Sponsorship: BB Asset Management
"Diffusion of the Fund Industry" is a project of the Getulio Vargas Foundation's Center for Studies in Finance (FGVcef) which aims to organize discussion forums on the fund industry in Brazil.
The Center for Studies in Finance (FGVcef) of the São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP) promoted the webinar "The relevance of the investment fund industry", on September 20, on FGV's YouTube channel.
The aim of the event was to discuss why funds are a fundamental investment product for the country's growth and an important alternative for investors.
This was the first event in a series of webinars that will take place as part of the Investment Funds Industry Dissemination project, which is sponsored by BB Asset Management, Banco do Brasil's third-party fund manager, and has the main objective of promoting knowledge about various aspects of the industry and its products. The webinar was attended by the executive director of Asset Management at BB Asset Management, Marcelo Pacheco, and the coordinators of the Center for Studies in Finance at the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGVcef), Claudia Yoshinaga and William Eid.
For Marcelo Pacheco, the fund industry has undergone many transformations and challenges in recent years, with the Selic rate falling to historic lows, the impacts of the pandemic and the growth of digital platforms, for example. "We believe that financial education is extremely important for investors to understand market movements and the solutions available, so that they can make good choices when it comes to investing. That's why supporting a project like this is so important to BB Asset Management," said Marcelo.
BB Asset Management is the leader in the investment fund industry, with net assets under management of R$1.3 trillion in resources and a 20.69% market share, according to Anbima's Investment Fund Managers ranking of July 2021. Its excellence in management is attested to by two important rating agencies - Fitch Rating and Moody's.

“Difusão da Indústria de Fundos” é um projeto do Centro de Estudos em Finanças da Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGVcef) que tem o objetivo de organizar fóruns de discussão sobre a Indústria de Fundos no Brasil.
O Centro de Estudos em Finanças (FGVcef) da Escola de Administração de Empresas de São Paulo (FGV EAESP) promoveu o webinar “A relevância da indústria de fundos de investimento”, no dia 20 de setembro, no canal da FGV no Youtube.
O objetivo do evento foi discutir porque os fundos são um produto de investimento fundamental para o crescimento do país e uma alternativa importante para os investidores.
Este foi o primeiro evento de uma série de webinars que ocorrerão como parte do projeto de Difusão da Indústria de Fundos de Investimentos, que conta com o patrocínio da BB Asset Management, a gestora de recursos de terceiros do Banco do Brasil, e tem o principal objetivo de promover conhecimento sobre diversos aspectos da indústria e dos produtos. O webinar contou com a presença do diretor executivo de Gestão de Ativos da BB Asset Management, Marcelo Pacheco e dos coordenadores do Centro de Estudos em Finanças da Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGVcef), Claudia Yoshinaga e William Eid.
Para Marcelo Pacheco, a indústria de fundos passou por muitas transformações e desafios nos últimos anos, com a redução da Selic aos patamares mínimos históricos, os impactos da pandemia e o crescimento das plataformas digitais, por exemplo. “Acreditamos que a educação financeira é de extrema relevância para que os investidores entendam os movimentos de mercado, as soluções disponíveis e assim possam fazer boas escolhas na hora de investir. Por isso apoiar um projeto como esse é tão importante para a BB Asset Management”, comentou Marcelo.
