This is an applied econometrics course aimed at training students in causal inference and impact assessment, with a strong emphasis on applications used in academic practice and public policy. The course is organized into lectures on quantitative techniques through case studies applied to the evaluation of public policies in Brazil and around the world, as well as reading and discussing empirical academic articles. We will also discuss the stages of an empirical research cycle, from the conception of research projects in public policy evaluation to the academic publication cycle. There will even be opportunities for discussion/mentoring of research/thesis projects.
