Line of research: Business Strategy

The participant should be motivated to discuss gaps and trends (both content and methodological) in research on Institutions and Nonmarket strategy. The course has been designed with stricto sensu postgraduate students in mind, with a clear academic orientation, and is aimed at building critical reading skills and comparative analysis of texts. Prior reading of the texts indicated is essential for enjoying the course. Students are expected to be able to discuss the assigned texts in depth, critiquing both the theoretical arguments and the empirical evidence they provide, developing a comprehensive view of the foundations of institutional theory as well as the nonmarket strategy perspective, and exploring aspects and points worthy of future research. This subject is also important for the researcher to take ownership of the different lenses of business strategy studies.
