The main objective of this subject is to learn about the technological innovations with the greatest disruptive potential in business environments, in order to also identify opportunities and possible changes in the way companies do business.
Business environments are constantly changing, driven by technological innovations and creative ways of using IT. Some technological trends currently represent great transformational potential, both in business models and in market dynamics.
The course will focus on the main elements driving digital transformation and on the requirements, challenges and dilemmas of managers who need, in the strategic dimension, to assess and reconcile the trajectory of different technological trends; while, in the tactical dimension, they need to conduct, budget, propose and implement practical measures with immediate reach.
The balance between these two forces will be the central theme of the course, with an emphasis on the aspects of analytical infrastructure and data engineering that must underpin the application of emerging technologies. The didactic approach will focus on the questions "What is it good for? What is it not good for?"; "What needs to be done to make it work properly?"; and with a secondary effort on the "How does it work?" aspect.
