The relationship between organizations has been seen as a key factor in the success of a supply chain because it extends the limits of the value created by the individual organizations, through the joint construction of benefits whose content depends on the characteristics of the collaboration process established. This process, in the intra- and inter-organizational spheres, allows the benefits created to be transformed into individual and mutual improvements that give competitive advantage to the organizations involved.
Collaboration is strongly dependent on the attitude of the various participants in the supply chain with regard to power, trust and opportunism, as well as the components of the external environment of the buyer-supplier relationship. Power and dependence are important aspects in the supply chain management process.
This course aims to identify the possible forms and levels of collaboration, as well as assessing their impact on improving performance and creating value. The differences between coordination and collaboration will also be addressed, given that there may be different forms of involvement by each organization in the supply chain. Within this context, the problem of governance emerges in the face of intra- and inter-organizational interactions.
Participants will have the opportunity to develop intra- and inter-organizational collaboration strategies based on an in-depth knowledge of the issue in the context of their business.
