Startups from all over Brazil can now register for the 18th Batch of FGV Ventures
Applications are open until January 12, 2025 for the 18th Batch, the startup acceleration program of FGV Ventures, the accelerator of the São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP). The program, which lasts 4 months, is aimed at startups from all over Brazil with the objective of training entrepreneurs through workshops and workshops taught by professors from the FGV network.
Startups that go through the program will also receive individualized strategic direction and mentoring. In addition, program participants will have access to the structure of the coworking rooms, and connections with partners and the entrepreneurship ecosystem of FGV EAESP, which includes GV Angels and other investment funds.
To participate in the 18th Batch, startups must have an MVP validated with real customers, that is, a first functional version of the product. It is also necessary that the values of the business are socially and environmentally responsible, with diverse and complementary teams, in addition to at least one partner in exclusive dedication and who is in search of product-market-fit, a concept that means being in a good market, looking for the ideal product that can satisfy that market.
According to the Professor of Entrepreneurship and Management at FGV EAESP and Director of FGV Ventures, Luciana Cualheta, 87 startups have already gone through the program in 17 acceleration batches since 2016. Together, they add up to more than R$ 500 million in valuation and have already raised more than R$ 150 million in investment.
"Considering that 90% of startups in the Early Stage phase go bankrupt within 2 years, we draw attention to the fact that the survival rate of startups that have gone through FGV Ventures is 63%. For the next round of the Batch, we are looking for startups from all over the national territory, with an ethical purpose and with a minimum of negative externalities", said the Director, emphasizing that it is not necessary to be a FGV student to participate in the program.
Training of startups in Batch 17
On November 28, Demoday Batch 17 took place in the Noble Hall of FGV EAESP. During the event, the startups that were accelerated by the last edition of the program presented a pitch about their respective businesses in front of a panel formed by Isabela Berdu, Investment Associate at Brazil Venture Capital (BVC); Semi Kim, Business Development Manager at AWS and member of the advisory board of FGV Ventures; and Victória Gomes, Venture Capital Analyst at GV Angels.
On the occasion, the guests gave their feedback and advice for startups to continue to boost their business, after the training granted by FGV Ventures.
