Grupo L'Oréal and the School of Business Administration of São Paulo (FGV EAESP) launch partnership initiatives for university education and assistance to students in situations of social vulnerability. Actions include holding the discipline “1st L'Oréal Marketing Mix Challenge” for undergraduate Business Administration students and scholarships for students.

These initiatives make up the global L'Oréal For Youth program, which focuses on professional training and generating job opportunities for young people between the ages of 18 and 30 worldwide. The partnership, which also aims to recruit interns for the company in Brazil, was announced on April 24, during an event for around 450 FGV EAESP students.

“We are convinced that the main gateway to the job market is through quality training. And we know that having FGV, one of the most qualified teaching institutions in Brazil, with us will bring great results”, says Jean-Claude Le Grand, Global Chief Human Relations Officer of the L'Oréal Group.

During the event, Le Grand held the lecture “Conectando Talentos”, a time when various topics such as career, culture and organizational challenges related to people were addressed, ending with questions from the students present. Furthermore, the Group's global HR executive provided details on the two initiatives in partnership with the institution FGV EAESP. The first is the discipline “1°Challenge L'Oréal Marketing Mix”, which will be part of the Business Administration course curriculum and will have executive professors from L'Oréal Brasil and professors from FGV EAESP, starting next semester. Around 280 students will have the opportunity to get to know the challenges of the company's brands in depth and solve real issues.

“Our history with the L'Oréal Group goes back a long way, our students have already completed internships at the company's headquarters in Paris, through our exchange program, CEMS (The Global Alliance in Management Education). Now this partnership will be even deeper, with the realization of disciplines for our students with analysis of real L'Oréal cases and also with the opportunity of an internship in our country. We are happy and proud and we are sure that we will achieve excellent results”, says Tales Andreassi, deputy director of FGV EAESP.

Also, as part of the partnership, the L'Oréal Group will support students in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability with grants. Students enrolled at FGV EAESP and who meet the requirements of the scholarship application are eligible. Selected students will receive monthly support to help with the costs of: housing, food, school supplies and transportation.

“Searching for partnerships outside the perimeter of Rio de Janeiro is part of our strategy to expand our base of profiles for entry-level careers at L'Oréal Brasil. Sponsoring a subject and funding scholarships for students, we are not only increasing and accelerating the probability that many of them will do an internship and start their careers with us, but also reinforcing the presence of L'Oréal Brasil in the FGV EAESP faculty as a whole”. Mario Guasco, General Director of HR at L'Oréal Brazil

Young people in the focus of the L'Oréal For Youth program

As part of the sustainability program L'Oréal for the Future, which has clear and measurable goals by 2030, the L'Oréal Group takes an important step in its commitment to young people with the L'Oreal For Youth programme. As candidates, employees and consumers, the young public is crucial for the company. The objective is to mobilize to build a more inclusive society and demonstrate that companies can be part of the solution to face the great social challenges of today.

The program follows three main steps:

1) Offer entry into the job market: for this, it foresees a 30% increase in job opportunities for people under 30 years old, with a focus on diversity and less represented groups. In 2021, more than 18,000 vacancies were generated and the goal is to increase to 25,000.

2) Employability: focus on offering professional training opportunities for young people, with courses and masterclasses, which have already been accessed by more than 70,000 students. Furthermore, more than 18,000 have already undergone training offered by the Group's HR executives.

3) Partnerships and alliances: through collaboration with institutions and other relevant stakeholders, expand social impact.
