Center of Excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain

The Center of Excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain (FGVcelog), of the São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP), is the result of the growing understanding among executives, academics and practitioners that companies no longer compete as isolated entities, but as part of an increasingly interdependent network.

This is mainly explained by the extraordinary increase in competition, the result of worldwide deregulation in the last decades of the 20th century and the consequent phenomenon of globalization. In this context, it is a fact that the area of Supply Chain Management and, within it, Logistics Management, have been the focus of growing and unprecedented interest, given their potential to rationalize and reduce costs and add intangible value through the availability of products and services.

In the case of Brazil, this scenario is accentuated by the opening up of trade that began in the first half of the 90s. The implications of these changes in the competitive landscape are profound, requiring new forms of management and the development of new skills and new organizational formats.

Active since March 2005, FGVcelog seeks to contribute to the country's socio-economic development, working mainly in Logistics Management and the various aspects of Supply Chain Management, with the aim of improving the performance of Brazilian companies in the domestic and international markets.
