Mariana Nicolletti

She leads the research agenda on climate change adaptation and disaster risk management at FGV’s Center for Sustainability Studies (FGVces). She is also a member of the Technical Chamber for Climate Change Adaptation and Green Infrastructure of the Brazilian Climate Change Forum (FBMC in the Portuguese acronym). Before joining FGVces, she worked as Senior Research Manager at C40 Cities, where she led climate mitigation research projects related to the transition to clean energy, building retrofits, and 15-minute cities. She was also Regional Manager for Low Carbon and Resilience at ICLEI South America and, before that, she led mitigation and adaptation applied research projects at FGVces in collaboration with national and local governments, large companies and civil society entities in Brazil. She has experience in the topics of water management, nature-based solutions, and sustainable value chains. She holds a PhD in Public Administration and Government from FGV EAESP and Robert Gordon University and a Master's in Social Psychology from the University of São Paulo. His doctoral thesis is on social learning as a basis for adaptation, socio-environmental justice and evolutionary resilience in cities.
