FGV Executive Education, in partnership with the Center of Excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain - FGVcelog, and the Logistics League of the School of Business Administration of São Paulo (FGV EAESP), is hosting its 1st Logistics Forum. The event will take place at the FGV campus in Campinas, at the Royal Palm Hall Convention Center, on August 12th, at 9 AM.

With the increasing complexity of the business environment and the need for cost reduction, logistics has become one of the most critical areas for a company's success. The event presents a discussion on how recent advancements in the field of Artificial Intelligence can be applied to logistics to enhance efficiency and operations optimization, as well as to analyze the benefits and challenges of closed-loop supply chains.

For instance, Generative AI spans fields such as text generation, image creation, music, 3D design, and more, holding significant potential for driving innovation and improving efficiency across various sectors. In logistics, it's applied to optimize transportation routes, plan supply chains, and identify potential disruptions in the supply chain, providing real-time predictive analytics.

The concept of a Closed Loop Supply Chain, a vital component of the circular economy, involves reverse logistics that bring materials, which served their initial purpose, back into the logistical process as manufacturing inputs, thus reducing waste. While it offers substantial advantages, many companies are still hesitant to adopt it due to its complexity. As technology advances, manufacturers will gain access to increasingly efficient recycling and reuse processes. These advancements will reduce production costs, making the circular economy more financially viable.
