FGV begins Master's classes in partnership with Audit Courts and São Paulo City Council
Last week, the São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP) began its new classes for the Professional Master’s in Management and Public Policy (MPGPP) , marking the beginning of strategic partnerships with important government agencies. One of the classes is the result of a collaboration with the São Paulo City Council and the Court of Auditors of the Municipality of São Paulo (TCM-SP), while the other was formed in partnership with the Court of Auditors of the State of São Paulo (TCE-SP) and the Rui Barbosa Institute (IRB), an association that supports the development of the Courts of Auditors in Brazil.
Opening Ceremony
During the opening ceremony, prominent leaders from the audit courts participated and emphasized the importance of ongoing training to improve public administration. The president of the TCE-SP, Renato Martins Costa, and the president of the TCM-SP, Eduardo Tuma, gave welcoming speeches, followed by Edilberto Pontes Lima, president of the IRB. Lima highlighted the crucial role of education and professional development in promoting the quality of the work of the audit courts and the positive social impact that these actions can generate. "I hope this partnership prospers. I believe that it will be an important milestone for the Audit Courts, for the Brazilian Public Administration and for society as a whole," said Lima.
Eduardo Tuma, president of TCM-SP, encouraged students to focus on the quality of their studies, highlighting the importance of technological innovation. "Focus your studies on quality, with technology applied to dominate the digital age. I am sure that the best practices will emerge from this classroom," said Tuma, reinforcing the need for training focused on the challenges of the digital age.
Paulo Augusto Baccarin, Chief Prosecutor of the São Paulo City Council and former student of Public Administration at FGV EAESP, also spoke on behalf of the presidency of the Legislative Assembly. He highlighted the relevance of his training at FGV EAESP and the value of initiatives like this for the improvement of public institutions.
Ivan Mangano, director of the TCE-SP School of Accounts, highlighted the importance of the partnership for strengthening public service. "This is a partnership to recognize the importance of public service. We need to seek solutions for today's problems and also think about and prepare for tomorrow," said Mangano, emphasizing the need for a long-term vision in public management.
The directors of the accounting schools of TCE-SP, Ivan Mangano, and TCM-SP, Ricardo Panato, were also present, offering words of encouragement to the new students. Tales Andreassi, vice-director of FGV EAESP, welcomed the students, emphasizing how connected FGV EAESP is to professional practice, in addition to being one of the most internationalized schools in the country. The representative of Global Affairs and MPGPP student, Amada Chan, presented the internationalization options for the new classes.
Expansion and Impact
The MPGPP Coordinator, Professor Marco Antônio Teixeira, emphasized FGV EAESP's responsibility to contribute to the training of high-level public managers and announced the creation of a third class, composed of 46 students, to be held in Salvador, Bahia, through an off-site class for the Interinstitutional Master's Program approved by Capes. He highlighted that the success of the first TCE-SP Master's class, held in partnership with FGV, was fundamental for the expansion of the program. The new classes that FGV welcomes are made up of a diverse group of students: 21 representatives from the São Paulo City Council, 10 from the Court of Auditors of the Municipality of São Paulo, one from the Court of Auditors of the Municipality of Goiânia and another 15 students from the Courts of Auditors of 10 different states, including São Paulo, Tocantins, Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, Pará, Amazonas, Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso, Goiás and Alagoas.
Commitment to Quality in Public Administration
The leaders of the partner institutions were unanimous in recognizing the benefits already achieved with the first class of the Master's in Management and Public Policy, a result of the collaboration between TCE-SP and FGV EAESP. This success reinforces FGV's commitment to offering excellent education, which not only enhances the skills of public managers, but also promotes efficiency and transparency in Brazilian public administration.
With these new classes, FGV EAESP reaffirms its role as one of the main educational institutions in the country, contributing to the training of leaders capable of facing the contemporary challenges of public management with innovative and socially responsible solutions.
