Authorities and experts discuss climate resilience

Last week, the São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP) welcomed the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite, for a talk during the UK-Brazil Conversa 2024 event, held in partnership with Canning House. The meeting was attended by Jeremy Browne, CEO of Canning House, and opened by FGV EAESP's vice-director, Tales Andreassi. Eduardo Leite,

a former student of the Professional Master's in Management and Public Policy (MPGPP), shared his experiences and the challenges he faces in rebuilding the state, especially after one of Brazil's worst climate catastrophes. Leite stressed the importance of national and international partnerships to strengthen Rio Grande do Sul's climate resilience, highlighting the "Rio Grande Plan" as a key piece in this process.

The event, organized by FGV EAESP professor Elize Massard da Fonseca, PhD, brought together influential leaders from Brazil and the United Kingdom to discuss topics such as global governance, energy transition, technological innovation and sustainability in healthcare, promoting an enriching dialogue on the relations between the two countries. The event was also attended by MPGPP coordinator Marco Antonio Carvalho Teixeira and professors Ricardo Gomes, Mario Aquino Alves and Cláudio Couto.

The partnership between FGV EAESP and Canning House reinforces the institution’s commitment to promoting discussions with global impact, connecting academic knowledge and practice to develop innovative solutions. Canning House is the UK’s leading forum on Latin America, promoting debates on political, economic, social and environmental trends in the region.
