Renewable Energy Overview: Industrial Sector and Latin America
This study aims to present an overview of industrial energy consumption of renewable sources in Brazil and some Latin American countries, such as Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. Product of a partnership between the Center for Sustainability Studies of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGVces) and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS), the study presents elements for the promotion of the use of RE in the Brazilian industrial sector, both from the perspective of public policy and finance mechanisms for such projects. The report provides a comparative analysis of international experiences on the subject, addressing the features of each country in relation to its use of RE, legal frameworks, obstacles, and financing mechanisms.
