Protocol for the socioeconomic, cultural and environmental development of resettlements caused by hydroelectric undertakings
Duration: 2019 - 2021 Financing: Projeto de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento – CTG Brasil/ANEEL |
The Research and Development project under the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) and funded by CTG Brasil aims to develop a protocol for defining and monitoring the necessary actions for socioeconomic, cultural and environmental development of resettlement projects caused by hydroelectric enterprises.
The protocol should establish a methodology with parameters for the socio-territorial characterization of resettled communities, with the recommendation of socio-economic and socio-environmental indicators for monitoring, analysis, and decision-making. The development of an experimental (pilot) project is foreseen for the application of the protocol in the resettlement that occurred in the scope of the installation of the Garibaldi Hydroelectric Power Plant (SC).
The methodology and lessons learned from the project will be widely disseminated with actors in society and the Brazilian electricity sector.
