Newton Monteiro de Campos Neto

Newton was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has studied and worked in all continents in São Paulo, Sydney, Madrid, Calcutta, Nice and Bissau and speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese and French. In his personal time he enjoys playing guitar and traveling to new places, which has taken him to 60+ countries. Professionally, Newton's life is driven by changing the world through education, entrepreneurship and technology, preparing potential global leaders to thrive relentlessly in their quest to solve global challenges. He is Director and Lead Researcher of GVcepe Private Equity and Venture Capital Research Center at FGV EAESP (São Paulo, Brazil), Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at FGV EAESP and IE Business School (Madrid, Spain), Member of the Advisory Board of ABStartups - Brazilian Startup Association, Team Leader of Guinea-Bissau Entrepreneurship Program for the World Bank and Founder and Executive Director of Sóliph Entrepreneurship and Educational Services Ltd, a company that supports and invests in the emergence of the Education Technology Industry in Latin America. Professor Campos has been participating in the foundation of several businesses in Latin America, accumulating over 20 years of experience in New Business Development for the sectors of Education and Technology in the region, having published the book "The Myth of The Idea" in 2015 and the book chapter "Teaching Entrepreneurship Online" in 2017. He holds a PhD in Business Administration from FGV EAESP (2010), a MBA from IE Business School and IIM-Cal Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (2002), a BS in Accounting from PUC-SP (1999) and a Technician degree in Information Technology from ORT (1994).
