José Henrique Bortoluci

Doctor of Sociology from the University of Michigan (CAPES/Fulbright scholarship) and professor at the Getulio Vargas Foundation (CPDOC-FGV). Bachelor of International Relations (2007) and Master of Social History (2009) from the University of São Paulo (FAPESP and Master of Arts) and Sociology from the University of Michigan. In Michigan, he was a member and co-coordinator with Professors George Steinmetz and Margaret Somers of the Social Theory workshop (2011-2015) and was an instructor in several sociology disciplines. He completed advanced training courses in Sociological Theory at Yale University and at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). At FGV, he teaches courses and guides graduation monographs. He is interested in research in the areas of Social Theory, Urban Studies and Political Sociology (mainly Social Movements and Theory and comparative studies of Democracy).
