The DPA's main objective is to train staff to lead transformation processes in organizations, combining the practical experience of the participants with the state of the art of knowledge in the field of Administration.
The course brings together differentiated content and its own development dynamics.
The DPA's thesis must be applied work that contributes to improving management practices, business models, the performance of organizations and their social impact.
The objectives of the DPA are as follows:
For students: to facilitate access to state-of-the-art knowledge in the various domains of Administration and contribute to increasing their ability to drive change in organizations.
For organizations: contribute to the improvement of management practices and competitiveness; and meet the demand for professionals with solid training, great analytical capacity, complex vision and potential to work in transformative processes.
For administrative science: disseminating scientific knowledge in organizations; promote interaction between researchers and managers; and facilitate access to organizations to carry out research.
For society in general: contribute to the economic and social development of the country and increase the competitiveness and sustainability of organizations, through the training of ethical managers, in tune with the cutting-edge knowledge applied in their area of activity.

Curricular Structure - DPA Finance

Three disciplines of research methodology, aimed at supporting the development of the doctoral thesis, comprising the research project, quantitative methods applied to finance and econometrics applied to finance. Total: 9 credits.

Three fundamental disciplines, focusing on corporate finance and the development of strategic and organizational analysis skills. Total: 9 credits.

Four advanced disciplines, aimed at exploring the state of the art of knowledge in emerging finance topics: capital markets and investments, valuation and M&A, financial reporting and sustainable finance. Total: 6 credits

An elective course, focused on the development of scientific articles. Total: 1.5 credit.

Investment
R$ 230,000.00 in 24 installments of R$ 6,708.33 + 12 installments of R$ 5,750.00
For PhD freshmen in 2022, the total amount of the course will be 230,000.00 (two hundred and thirty thousand reais)* paid in 36 installments as follows:
24 installments of R$ 6,708.33 (six thousand, seven hundred and eight reais and thirty-three cents);
12 installments of BRL 5,750.00 (five thousand, two hundred and fifty reais).Former students of regular FGV courses (with a workload of 360 hours or more) and professionals employed in FGV EAESP partner companies have a 10% reduction in this amount.
If the student approved in the selection process has taken courses as a single student, the amount paid may be deducted from the total amount of the course and up to six credits may be validated, up to two years after the completion of courses.

1Application
Candidates register on the website and send the requested documents: application form, photo, motivation letter, curriculum vitae, undergraduate degree, master's degree or international MBA, and a research proposal.
The research proposal must have about two thousand words, containing: title, area, intended advisor, abstract of up to 200 words, contextualization and research question, theoretical foundations, scope of study (methods), expected impact on practice, and bibliography. As a reference, we recommend the book Projeto de Pesquisa, by John Creswell, Publisher Bookman.

Documents delivered are analyzed by an examining board made up of DPA professors.
Candidates approved in the document analysis stage are interviewed by an examining board composed of DPA professors.

Informações geraisFGV EAESP offers interested parties who meet the profile of the DPA target audience the possibility of taking courses as a single student.
Enrollment is continuous, closing 45 days before the start of each course.
To register, fill out the form and send it to the address dpa@fgv.br, attaching a photo and the following documents: resume, simple copy of RG, simple copy of graduation diploma and simple copy of master's degree or international MBA.
Applicants may eventually be called for an interview.
Finance Line - available from 2023:
3-credit subjects: Strategic Analysis, Corporate Finance and Econometrics Applied to Finance: R$8,000.00.
Payment can be divided into up to 6 installments.
Former students of regular FGV courses (with a workload of 360 hours or more) and professionals employed in EAESP's partner companies have special conditions to take courses as a single student, receive a 10% deduction from the full value of the course.
FGV EAESP will provide, if requested, certificates to students who have passed the courses taken.
In the case of entry into the program up to three years after the completion of courses, these may be validated up to the limit of eight credits, with deduction from the monthly fees.

1APPLIED RESEARCH
Students can participate in activities at the FGV EAESP Study Centers, which focus on the production and dissemination of knowledge that address relevant management issues in the public and private spheres.

2INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE
Students can spend periods abroad, including in the international network of partner schools of FGV EAESP, renowned institutions in countries such as Germany, Australia, Canada, China, United States, France, United Kingdom and many others.

3ADDITIONAL SUBJECTS
Students can take courses at the Academic Doctorate in Business Administration, at the School of Methods and at the FGV EAESP Winter School, which promotes exchanges between Brazilian and foreign researchers.

FGV EAESP Facilities

The FGV 9 de Julho Auditorium can accommodate 315 people, with six spaces for wheelchair users. It hosts around 80 events per year. It has a changing room, central air conditioning, a stage, a simultaneous interpretation booth and an entrance hall with facilities for coffee breaks for up to 160 guests. Open from 6 am to 10 pm, Monday to Friday, and 6 am to 6 pm on Saturdays.

Smaller events are held in the FGV 9 de Julho Room, which can accommodate 88 audience members, plus a head table for up to six people. Fully accessible, it has a changing room, central air conditioning and an entrance hall that can be used for coffee breaks for up to 50 people on foot. Open from 6 am to 10 pm, Monday to Friday, and 6 am to 6 pm on Saturdays.

The Karl A. Boedecker Library (BKAB) is part of the FGV Library System. Its archives span the areas of administration, economics, business, law and social sciences, including books, e-books, magazines, dissertations, theses and DVDs. The library’s users can also access databases containing journal articles, and economic, financial and legal information. It has individual and group study rooms and consultation terminals. On the library’s website, you can access the full list of services, available resources and opening hours.

The FGV Bookstore specializes in Brazilian and imported books in the areas of business, administration, economics and law. Students, professors and alumni are eligible for discounts and they can order books on any subjects. The FGV Bookstore is open from 9 am to 9 pm from Monday to Friday, and 10 am to 2 pm on Saturdays.

FGV EAESP’s classrooms feature multimedia equipment, internet access and comfortable furniture to make learning dynamic and pleasant. There are also sponsored classrooms, which use equipment and resources paid for by partner companies in exchange for their logos being displayed to students and employees.

This sophisticated space for events holds up to 150 seated people and it has three head tables for up to seven people each. The infrastructure includes a staff break room and elevator for physically impaired people. The Noble Room functions from 6 am to 11 pm, Monday to Friday, and 6 am to 6 pm on Saturdays.

An innovative space created to host academic activities, CoLab is based on a modern and distinct learning model involving collaborative and action-oriented methodologies. Its principles are empathy, a focus on human beings and sharing of responsibilities.

The sports court is a meeting point for students and it also hosts sports events such as indoor soccer and basketball championships. The court is administered by Atlética, an FGV EAESP student organization.

Espaço NEON is FGV’s entrepreneurship area, which brings together FGVcenn (Center for Entrepreneurship and New Businesses), GVentures (FGV’s business accelerator), or GVAngels (FGV’s Angel Investors) and the League of Entrepreneurship (Student Entity in entrepreneurship). There, FGV’s entrepreneurship ecosystem works collaboratively, stimulating innovation and new businesses.

Located at the school’s main entrance on Rua Itapeva, this large space fosters interaction between students and employees.

The Computer Teaching and Research Laboratories (LEPI) are formed by a set of facilities equipped with state-of-the-art microinformatics resources, with access to the local network, the school's academic systems and the internet, and are available to students for research purposes, works and studies. The Laboratories are also used in hands-on classes, simulation exercises, games, group works, web-based testing, EAD content, and other applications where the computer network plays a relevant role in learning. Based on Avenida 9 de Julho, in the neighborhood of Bela Vista in Sao Paulo, FGV EAESP is composed of a main 12-floor building, the Karl A. Boedecker Library building, and the Getulio Vargas Auditorium, as well as a multisport court and two annex buildings, located at Rua Itapeva, 432. The classrooms, videoconferencing rooms, IT laboratories and integrated systems, all sponsored, are located in FGV Sao Paulo’s different buildings.
The School’s main administrative office, academic departments, most of its administrative departments, the Noble Hall, the Mayor Faria Lima Bookstore and the Getulio Vargas Academic Office also occupy the main office, as do the professors’ social space, the outpatient medical center, two restaurants and two snack bars. The annex buildings house some administrative departments and student groups such as Aiesec, the Junior Companies group, the Athletics Association and the Employees’ Association.
